TweetKnot helps you create twitter communities. You can have the communities marked public as well as private.

Once you create a knot, you can add twitter users whose updates would then be visible in the knot. You can login to the site using oAuth and start creating your knot right away. The site also has a search bar that lets you browse through all the knots that have been created.
