TweeSpeed – How many twitter tweets per minute?

TweeSpeed is a simple twitter application that just answers one question – How many twitter updates are being made per minute?

TweeSpeed calculates this by calculating the number of tweets appearing in the public timeline every 5 minutes and averaging it for 1 minute.

This method can be the closest we can come to calculating the number of twitter updates being made. However, this would not cover the private tweets thus these numbers are still less than the actual tweets being sent out every minute. Nevertheless, as they say, something’s better than nothing!

Update: TweeSpeed has released a widget which displays the current twitter speed to all the visitors visiting your blog or site like the one below.
