LocalTweeps – help localize the twittersphere

Loading ...LocalTweeps is a twitter directory that aims to list twitter users based on their area zip code.
What this basically means is that you would be able to find twitter users specific to your area. This is a great way to be able to connect with fellow twitter users who live in the same place as you!
As far as we can tell, LocalTweeps currently has support only for U.S. but they intend to take the service international soon.
To be listed in this local twitter directory, all you need to do is enter your zip code and hit the Tweet to complete! button. You would be taken to your twitter homepage with a status update that reads – “Just listed myself in the http://localtweeps.com local Twitter directory in ZIP XXXXX”
Once you update your status with the above tweet, you would be listed at LocalTweeps.com.
Users can search LocalTweeps based on username, city or zip. A list of the Top Cities and Top States is also displayed.

I have RSS-feed of your blog so I rarely come directly. I wanted to come this time to say thanks for all that you do. I took your suggestion and signed up with this LocalTweeps service. It will be interesting to see how it evolves…
